The Philippines' Ateneo De Manila University entered into a memorandum of understanding to promote blockchain education within the university.
The university's research group, The Ateneo Blockchain Laboratory, will lead this collaboration with nChain, a provider of global blockchain technology, IP licensing and consulting services.
"Our collaboration with nChain aims to expand the University's blockchain programs through education, capacity-building, and research initiatives. Blockchain technology can potentially solve many of our society's problems," Christian Pulmano, head for the Ateneo Blockchain Laboratory, said in a statement.
Stefan Matthews, nChain Group Chairman, said the partnership with Ateneo was the first of a series of educational and training initiatives being rolled out to enable blockchain adoption in the Philippines.
