Moelis & Company launched its global blockchain group that aims to provide bespoke advisory services to blockchain companies and corporations using blockchain.
John Momtazee, Moelis co-founder and global head of media investment banking, will lead the group.
"The establishment of the Global Blockchain Group demonstrates our commitment to meet our clients in the moment by providing senior-level counsel across both established and emerging industries," Momtazee said. "With more than 50 unicorns and several decacorns in the sector already and nearly $20 billion of capital raised for blockchain companies last year, blockchain technology is poised to be as transformative to the global business landscape as the Internet was in the late 90s."
The investment bank also announced the appointment of Lou Kerner as senior advisor to the group.
As founder of Web3 consulting firm CryptoOracle Collective, and partner at Blockchain Coinvestors, a venture investor to blockchain and crypto companies, Kerner brings nearly a decade of experience working with, leading and investing in blockchain, cryptocurrency, smart contracts and decentralized finance companies.
